JAMES & JUDY UNDERWOOD

Reverend James was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1955. He is married to his wonderful Christian lady, Judy. They reside in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

Reverend James came to the Lord at the age of 14 while living under foster care in the community of Cooks Brook. He was attending the United Pentecostal Church of Stewiacke at the time. Returning home to Halifax in 1971, he began to attend Calvary Tabernacle, a United Pentecostal Church under the pastorate of Bishop John Mean.

Always keenly interested in the work of the Lord, Reverend James served under the leadership and tutelage of Bishop Mean who was responsible for bringing the message of the United Pentecostal Church to Nova Scotia in 1952. 

Entering into the ministry in 1982, Reverend James served in various capacities including Assistant and then Associate Pastor to Bishop Mean until 2004, when he became Lead Pastor of Dartmouth United Pentecostal Church. Reverend James served his congregation until his retirement in 2017. During his tenure at Dartmouth, he completed the construction and dedication of a new church building located on Main Street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Throughout the years, Reverend James has been active in ministry, he has served the Nova Scotia District of the United Pentecostal Church in various capacities such as Youth President, District Board Member, District Rep to Northeast Christian College, and Chairman of Miller Lake Campgrounds located just outside of Halifax.

During his ministry, Reverend James was also an employee of Canada Post in various managerial tenures. He retired after 35 years with them.
 
Reverend James is now honored to be serving with his good friends, Pastor Warren Lange and Reverend Tony Gratto in active ministry. He works alongside Pastor Lange serving here at CCC, and with Reverend Gratto in an exciting new initiative - Cyber Church (www.cyber-church.com)

"We then, as workers together with him..." 2 Corinthians 6:1 indicates to us God's plan with which to reach our world with this life-changing Gospel message. The better we work together, the better we work WITH HIM!
